The Journal - Chapter 3Bruce awoke to the calming sound of birds chirping near his windowsill. The sun seeped in through the blinds, painting strokes of orange all around his room. He had such a wonderful sleep. He had dreamt that Eliza was alive, and Alice too, and they were living happily together. It was such a nice dream! But Bruce had dreamt another dream, a dream about a book that told a horrible future, one that he wasn’t sure he could prevent. The Journal - Chapter 2The ride back to the office went by in no time at all. It had stopped raining and there seemed to be less traffic, so Bruce’s mood was greatly improved. As he pulled into the office parking lot he reached for the book that was still tucked firmly in his coat pocket. It was only when Bruce opened the door that he realized how hot it was. He slipped off his jacket and tossed it into the passenger seat, holding the book under one arm as he unlocked the door to the office.
